München, 11 December 2024. Gini, a provider of innovative payment solutions, is donating 5,000 euros to Münchner Tafel, a charitable organization.
Since it was founded in 1994, Münchner Tafel e.V. has provided needy people in Munich with rescued food. The organization currently serves well over 21,000 people every week, including around 7,000 children. Every week, over 180 tonnes of perfectly good food is collected from supermarkets, farmers and industry and distributed to people living at or below the poverty line, regardless of origin or religion, at over 30 distribution points in the city. To ensure this, over 1000 volunteers work 6 days a week to support the valuable work of the Münchner Tafel. The Münchner Tafel is a private and independent organization financed purely by donations.
As a company founded and based in Munich in 2011, Gini supports local people in need by donating to the Münchner Tafel. Gini develops payment solutions that simplify payments for banks, insurance companies, and e-commerce. These include, for example, photo payments, which are integrated into the banking apps of numerous German banks and savings banks.
“We would like to express our heartfelt thanks for Gini’s donation, which helps us to support well over 21,000 Munich residents who find themselves in a difficult situation with food every week,” says Hannelore Kiethe, Chairwoman and co-founder of Münchner Tafel e.V.
“The Münchner Tafel does an excellent job of helping people living in Munich who need support quickly and easily,” says Alexander Jäger, CEO of Gini GmbH. “That’s why we are happy to donate so that this direct help can continue.”
