- Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken customers benefit from time-saving money transfer solution
- Feature can be used in the banking app of Germany’s second-largest banking group
Munich, 10 October 2023. The Photo Payment from Gini, the leading company for innovative payment and extraction solutions, is now integrated into the VR BankingApp of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken via Atruvia, the IT service provider of the cooperative financial group. For those of the 18 million customers who use the VR BankingApp, a solution is now available that makes transferring money quick, time-saving, and easy. The Gini Pay Photo Payment is now integrated into the BankingApp of one of the largest European banking groups.
Thanks to the Gini Pay Photo Payment, customers of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken can pay invoices with the BankingApp either by smartphone photo, direct sharing of a digital document, or recognition via a QR code. This also works for multi-page invoice documents. With this feature, the necessary information, such as the amount or the recipient’s IBAN, is read from the document, and the transfer mask is filled in automatically, eliminating the need for time-consuming typing. The user then only has to authorize the transfer.
Quick and secure money transfer with the Gini solution
The central elements of the Gini Pay Photo Payment are a very high extraction quality, speed, and security. This is why it is appreciated and used by a large number of bank customers in Germany. The transfer feature uses artificial intelligence and was developed by Gini.
To further improve the functionality and speed, Gini developed its own OCR engine (“Optical Character Recognition”), which converts image documents such as invoice scans into machine-readable text. The in-house developed OCR significantly speeds up Gini Pay Photo Payments.
“With the integration of the Gini Pay Photo Payment into the VR BankingApp, we are significantly improving a well-known feature for customers of the Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken. The recognition of templates and documents becomes faster and more reliable,” said Ulrich Coenen, Board Executive for Digital Solutions at Atruvia. “This way, we once again increase the everyday usefulness of our BankingApp.”
“We are pleased to provide Atruvia, and thus a large number of Volksbanken and Raiffeisenbanken customers, with our high-performance remittance feature. With the Gini Pay Photo transfer, even more bank customers in Germany will be able to enjoy the automatic payment of bills,” said Alexander Jäger, COO of Gini.
Gini is ISO 27001 certified and subject to the strictest data protection requirements. The company also holds the “Software Hosted in Germany” and “Software Made in Germany” certifications, awarded by the Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e. V. They prove, among other things, the security and user-friendliness of the solutions.
